June 25  Round 2 of "Let Creativity Happen" & "City's Initiative" Grant
The City’s Initiative grant program (CI) provides funding to individual artists and nonprofits for strategic and creative opportunities to engage visitors and residents while building upon Houston’s cultural identity and tourism. The Let Creativity Happen (LCH) grant category provides funds of up to $2,500 for specific programs that amplify artistic creativity and innovation taking place in the City of Houston. MORE INFO

OPPORTUNITIES FOR: RESIDENCY
June 26  Hide Tanning and Parfleche Residency
This three-week visual arts residency focuses on hide scraping, bone tool making, and working with parfleche. Visual artists who work with hide and parfleche will learn more about how scrape a hide, and work with parfleche with the support of faculty, elders, and knowledge keepers. Participants are invited to engage with faculty, community and peers while having self-directed studio time in Glyde Hall. Participants will come together with the community and have the opportunity for one-on-one sessions. The participants and faculty will have a chance to share their works in progress in Open Studios.  MORE INFO

June 10  Summer Camp Bootcamp 2024
SWAMP presents the 2024 Young Filmmakers Bootcamp, a three-week intensive workshop designed for creatives age 12 and up. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, guest speakers, discussions, and workshops, campers will form a basic understanding of the production process, from conceptualization to post-production, and transform their ideas into proper screenplays and short films of their own. This year we are limiting camps to a maximum of 15 per session and implementing CDC guidelines. MORE INFO
