The Federation of Scottish Theatre, supported by the
Scottish Arts Council, is looking for experienced researcher/s to map existing
provision of training opportunities in Scotland for artists to develop their
skills to work in education and learning contexts. The Scottish Arts Council has
established a need to focus on training opportunities for these artists.
Led by a cross art form Steering Group with representatives
from the established art form networks for literature, visual arts and
galleries, music, dance and theatre sectors the aims of the project are:
i
To map existing provision of training
opportunities in Scotland for artists to develop their skills as a ‘teaching
artist’ and enable them to work in education and learning contexts, how/where do artists find out about these, and
identify examples of best practice
ii
To make an analysis of the findings and secure recommendations for “next
steps”
iii To
provide networking opportunities for ‘teaching artists’ in and across art
forms
Individuals/ organisations with demonstrable knowledge and
understanding of the arts sector and particular experience in the delivery of
arts in education and learning contexts are invited to submit proposals to
deliver the three aims outlined above. The period of engagement is from appointment
in December 2009 to the end of April 2010.

2009
