Dear all

Tender Opportunity – Please circulate

The Federation of Scottish Theatre, supported by the Scottish Arts Council, is looking for experienced researcher/s to map existing provision of training opportunities in Scotland for artists to develop their skills to work in education and learning contexts. The Scottish Arts Council has established a need to focus on training opportunities for these artists.

Led by a cross art form Steering Group with representatives from the established art form networks for literature, visual arts and galleries, music, dance and theatre sectors the aims of the project are:

i      To map existing provision of training opportunities in Scotland for artists to develop their skills as a ‘teaching artist’ and enable them to work in education and learning contexts, how/where do artists find out about these, and identify examples of best practice

ii     To make an analysis of the findings and secure recommendations for “next

steps”

iii    To provide networking opportunities for  ‘teaching artists’ in and across art forms

Individuals/ organisations with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the arts sector and particular experience in the delivery of arts in education and learning contexts are invited to submit proposals to deliver the three aims outlined above. The period of engagement is from appointment in December 2009 to the end of April 2010.

Closing date for applications: 9th December 2009

Interviews: 16th December 2009

Full details of this opportunity are attached.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes

Kirsty
