I am welcoming any and all artists who would be interested in talking
through a group setting online about painting.
I am interested in creating textured paintings with impasto. Does
anyone know how to do that with oil paint? I understand that oil
doesn't bond well with acrylic, so it has to be done on top of gesso
and not directly on the acrylic resin that we use for texturing. I can
do some research on this on the Internet, but I thought I would ask
the artists for first hand experience. I'd like to know which
materials are most useful for this type of raised texture in oil
paintings. Ii have some wax from Gamblin. That is one additive I think
is meant to be used for thickening oil paint.
