Three cops suspended for custodial death

Bhopal, Apr 27 (PTI) The Town Inspector of Hanumana Police Station in Rewa district and three other policemen have been suspended following the custodial death of a robbery accused Shiv Shankar Kushwaha. Police sources said here today that Shankar who was arrested in connection with a robbery of Rs 31 lakh from a businessman in Rewa had hung himself to death in police lockup. Shankar, who had committed suicide in the police station last Thursday had been produced in a court which remanded him to police custody. Since then he was in Hanuman police station where he ended his life. Inquiry has been ordered to find out the circustances leading to the death.
