aipur: A delegation of traders handed over a memorandum to senior police officials, addressed to chief minister Ashok Gehlot. The memo opposed the removal of two investigating officers and sending others to the reserve police lines in the case of a custodial death.
Addressed to the CM, the delegation of eight traders handed over the memorandum to senior police official Sanjay Kshotriya, in support of the 42 cops of the Mansarovar police station who have been sent to reserve police lines and the two investigating officers of the case who have been suspended in the custodial death of an accused.
Sadbhawana Vyapar Mandal patron Manoj Pandey said the delegation of eight traders met Sanjay and handed over the memorandum. The traders’ demand was that the transfer of 42 policemen to the reserve police lines is not justified in the case of the custodial death of a criminal and the two officers have been suspended. The administration should take action against these officers if they are found guilty in the judicial inquiry.
Manoj said the cops had brought Yogesh, the deceased, for interrogation in a theft case and stolen items worth Rs 20 lakh were recovered from his home. If the custodial death has occurred, then administration should inquire the matter before changing the staff of Mansarovar police station.
