Bot zoo

Bots are little creeps that live on the web and try to sell people
viagra. People try to block them, but I want to trap them in text
fields and display their message live when they hit. That way people
can get a sense of their real presence. The same way that tigers and
bears once threatened us a few hundred years ago, I want to preserve
these little creepy bots for a day when they no longer seem so
menacing.

I'm thinking about setting up some website "traps" then update some
small LCD screens or a projector with their message when they hit.

You could also try modifying the akismet plugin (or equivalent) for
wordpress so that when it sees spam it sends it to your project. Then
people who already have blogs could just run that plugin and you'd get
some free spam.

Or make some sort of gmail thing that auto-forwards spam to your
project and have people run that.

Horse_ebooks is already almost a bot in a zoo.

There's any number of honeypot plugins that can probably output this, too

Yeah those are good ideas. I'm still unsure what the best way to
display them is, but I also really like the idea of giving people
easier access to spam, adopt-a-bot.
