Hi all. I have only just found this group. I have recently been
listening to art bell streams on the internet, and realised that I
like the way he works. Also his shows cover important material that is
not covered elsewhere.

A while back I collected the Matrix cds, about 9gb worth. I have
noticed there are massive torrents covering shows from 2001 onwards,
but before this date I am pretty sure all the torrents I have seen are
merely copying the shows from the Matrix cds.
Is anyone aware of some proper torrents containing early shows from
Art Bell. I do not mind if they contain the shows from the Matrix cds
for completeness, but I want to find shows that are missing from the
Matrix collection.

Any information on this subject welcome,
Thank you.

I'm the guy who's made the proper releases from 2004-2011. I'm working
on 2003 and backward, but there's some big gaps. See the archive for
2003 shows I'm missing. I have all the matrix CD's and download every
C2CAM torrent I can find to check for new content. I have a huge Misc
folder to go through and organize- most of it is repeats, mislabeled,
or partial shows.

It's helpful to label the shows like "C2CAM 2003-11-08- Parallel
Universes & Solar Kill Shots- Art Bell- Whole Show.mp3", so they sort
properly on a computer and match my proper torrents. Here's a list of
C2CAM shows I have pre-2004 which are verified to be the proper date
and listenable quality:
http://pastebin.com/Xphs6wZE

If you have 10+ shows I'm missing (especially 2003), I'd be happy to
open up SFTP access to you to upload what you have and then you can
download what I have. Unicast me.

Hi MaLaCoiD,

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply. I have just recently found your torrents on Demonoid, and I have started downloading them one by one. I wish I had found your collections earlier, then I would not have wasted so much time downloading incomplete mixed up collections. I hope you realise that there are people out here who very much appreciate the effort you have gone to to compile these torrents. I will try to repay you efforts by hopefully seeding all of your torrents for a good while.

I am a new collector, and it is unlikely that I will have any of the missing shows that you are talking about, although I have taken a copy of the Pastebin list for reference. I do, however, have a vast archive of material covering esoteric subjects that I have collected over the years. I have downloaded a lot of collections from Concen over the years, and I may have something that you are after. I am a bit of a late comer to Art Bell, I did not realise the significance of his shows until I started listening to them on streams like U7 or FineArt. I know realise that he has made an important contribution to the sum of human knowledge, and I want to have as many of his shows as possible.

If there is anything else I can do to 'earn' access to your archive of shows, let me know. Or I may have something in my collection that we can trade?

Again, thank you for taking the trouble to answer. I am not familiar with unicast, but I am competent on a computer and I will check it out as soon as I can and will contact you.

Here is what I have from 92-96 that is missing from the list MaLaCoiD
posted. I do not use the same naming convention, however, all the
basic information is in it. I know it's a coast to coast show because
it's in a coast to coast file.

I make no claims that the names and guests are 100% accurate. I have
gone through the available online archives that (PDF) that list old
show information, but the further back one goes the less accurate it
becomes.

I will get them to MaLaCoiD who will incorporate then into his list.  I don’t want to duplicate this process, however, get with me off line and I will see what I can do.  In the meantime have you looked at Funkbaldy51 radio’s site?  He has a HUGH archive of shows.  On an ancillary note, I rebuilt the entire 2008 year from his collection.  I went through his older archives and got some of them from their as well.

Thanks Rapren for your list.

Although, it should be noted that some of the listed shows are from
"Dreamland with Art Bell" shows, and not from the Coast to Coast
collection. I am noting that because I almost thought that I don't
have some of these shows, but after I checked with my Dreamland
archives, I figured out that I have them after all. However, I still
haven't checked all of these from the list. Will do it later to see
how much is it exclusive.

Best Wishes and thanks for the list.

Archivist 1947 how extensive is your archives?  I have a rather large collection of these as well, however, they came from all different sources and some just had a year date.  I did the best I could with what was available.  Please if you could forward something that would be GREAT!  I am not a purist in by ant stretch, however, it should be a crime to miss lable these gems and any effort to correct that would be greatly appreciated by me.  Thanks

I would just like to add to the points being made. If there are large amounts of files that need to be identified and dated correctly, the easiest way to do that would be to split the work between the willing helpers. I for one would be willing to help label and date unknown files. I think it is time to start compiling these archives properly and we will all benefit in the future.

Ludwig I agree.  However, some of the original sources for these files neglected or outright gutted them.  It's extremely difficult to correctly name them with just a year date.  Art to the best of my knowledge did not announce a date with a guest.  I have been able to narrow a few down that had months assigned to the name by contexts from his news stories.  It's not to difficult with the Dreamland files as he only did them on Sunday nights. Some of the older torrents were a real mess.  They were nothing more than a Hodgepodge of files.  Some members here know what I am talking about.  I have a few shows that are just labeled Art Bell.  I do my best to vet them all, and to that end I haven't gotten back past 03.

Good point. It is likely that some of these shows will never have the proper information available. The ones that can be worked on though the offer of help still stands. With some of the more difficult to label shows there may be no other way to get the information but to do as you said and listen to the show for clues. One or two people trying to check that many shows would make it very hard going, so I personally am making myself available to help out, if that help is wanted. If a few people help out with just a few shows each we can start to pull together some of these lost shows from years ago.

I do think it is time to start doing this. Art bell may on occasion return for special shows, but I think basically he has retired, and it is time to try and pull together as many show collections as possible before the impetus is lost.

If you people want to get info on all of Art's programs, just go to youtube and enter art bell and the guests name in the search box...it will give you the full show and date it aired and you can download the programs most of them without commercial breaks...
