Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced F5 Identity & Development Engineer to support enterprise access management and secure application integration initiatives. This role combines deep hands‑on expertise with F5 technologies and modern identity platforms, along with strong software development capabilities to deliver custom portals, authentication workflows, automation, and secure access solutions. The engineer will bridge infrastructure security, identity engineering, and application development to implement scalable, secure identity‑driven access across enterprise applications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, configure, and support F5 BIG‑IP and F5 Access Policy Manager (APM) solutions
- Develop and maintain custom portals, authentication workflows, and secure access integrations
- Build and support custom applications, APIs, and automation related to identity and access management
- Configure and integrate modern authentication and federation technologies including SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth 2.0, and Single Sign‑On (SSO)
- Integrate F5 APM with enterprise identity providers and MFA solutions
- Develop secure front‑end and back‑end components supporting identity‑driven access workflows
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IAM, infrastructure, and application teams to implement secure access solutions
- Troubleshoot authentication, federation, and application integration issues across complex environments
- Support custom development initiatives focused on secure access and user experience improvements
- Document development standards, implementation procedures, and operational support processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with F5 technologies, including F5 APM and BIG‑IP.
- Strong understanding of identity and federation concepts including SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, federation, and SSO.
- Strong development experience with one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, .NET/C#.
- Experience developing custom portals, APIs, authentication integrations, and web applications.
- Experience integrating enterprise identity providers such as Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, and Active Directory/LDAP
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and modern web application architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across infrastructure and application layers
- Ability to work independently in highly technical enterprise environments
- Experience with Zero Trust architectures and secure access platforms (preferred)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (preferred)
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes (preferred)
- Experience building secure enterprise portals or customer‑facing access solutions (preferred)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS (preferred)
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (preferred)
- F5 certifications (preferred)
