Dear All,

We are pleased to invite you to a joint lecture organised by Muis
Academy
and Centre for Research on Islamic and Malay Affairs (RIMA) entitled:
"
Islam and Adaptation to Western Secular Society".

The lecture will be delivered by a prominent expert on contemporary
Islam,
Prof. Olivier Roy. He is currently Head of the Meditarrenean Programme
at
the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University
Institute in Italy. Among his acclaimed works are The Failure of
Political
Islam (1994), Globalised Islam: The Search for a New Ummah (2004),
Secularism Confronts Islam (2007), and his latest book, Holy
Ignorance:
When Religion and Culture Part Ways (2010).
