I have a question in reference to the Roku player and the "Room Off" function through Control4. If you're watching something on TV via a Roku player (say Netflix as an example) and you want to turn everything off for the night, is there a way of programming the remotes, touch screens, etc., to exit Netflix and bring the Roku player back to the main page (Channel Page) when you use the "Off" function or "Room Off" button on the remotes/tablets/touch screens? If I just hit the "Room Off" button on the remote, it has no function/control of the Roku player and whatever we're watching still continues to play as if you still had the TV on, which prevents the Roku from going into "sleep mode". I typically have to hit the "guide" button on the remote to bring the Roku player back to the "Channel Page" (main page) and then I can turn off everything with the Room Off button.

Thanks Ryan... my programmer said that's an easy fix with my Roku players. It was an extra step (hitting the guide button) that we (wife and I) kept forgetting when turning everything off for the evening when going to bed or in the morning when leaving for work/school.

Oh okay... got it. Thanks for the explanation. In my situation, I have a roku connected to an HDMI input on my family room receiver, which is going out to the family room TV only. No other rooms share the roku player. However, now that I think about it... I didn't know you could share the Roku on multiple TV displays. Does this mean an individual roku player has the ability to play different signals (example, Netflix and Hulu Plus) simultaneously in two different rooms or are you talking about the Roku is streaming the same signal to two different TVs in two different rooms? Thanks

I have a follow up question. I noticed when we are using other sources in the room (blu ray player, XB1, PS4, listening to music, etc.) and we use the "Room Off" command button on the remote, this wakes the Roku player from sleep mode. I recently had the dealer program the "Room Off" command to include the "Guide" commend for the Roku player, but only if we are using the Roku player... not other sources. Is there a way to program the "Room Off" command to include the "Guide" command with the Roku player ONLY. If we are using other sources to watch/listen and we use the "Room Off" command on the remote not to wake the Roku player?

A. You can either buy a Roku device for each TV (preferred method), or move the one Roku device between the different TVs. (just plug into the HDMI port and provide power). Roku devices are portable once setup/activated.

B. As long as you "link" all the Roku devices to the same Roku account (use same email address when you setup/activate the device), you can watch a paid subscription on any of the Roku devices. (this is how it should be done if subscribing to channels "through" Roku). Alternatively, you may also subscribe directly with the subscription provider (if an option), and that would allow you to watch on any Roku device, linked or not linked. (as well as watching on non-Roku devices if needed and supported by the subscription).

I think most users prefer to link their devices to the same account, and then subscribe directly with the subscription provider. I haven't had any issues when subscribing through Roku, but some users reportedly have experienced content issues and payment issues/conflicts being resolved.

There is a way to use a single Roku device and view the content on multiple TVs, but then you have to watch the same thing on every TV. You would need to create a video distribution network in your home, and that's likely far more work than you'd care to do, not to mention the cost of equipment necessary. It would be cheaper to simply put a Roku on each TV.

By using separate Roku players on each TV, you have the ability to watch different content on each TV at the same time. As others have mentioned, you might run into restrictions from the provider about how many TV streams can be used at the same time. For example, Netflix allows a different number of simultaneous streams depending on which plan you have signed up for. Something like YouTube has no restrictions.

Your second question was answered, but I want to reiterate it. Yes, you can watch any of your subscriptions on any/all of your Roku devices. But be aware that if you subscribe to a service through Roku, you can only watch those subscriptions on a Roku device that is linked to your specific Roku user account. You cannot watch that subscribed service on a non-Roku device, or a Roku device that is linked to a different user account. If you subscribe directly with the provider (such as Hulu for example), you can use your login credentials on any device, regardless of brand or user account.

You didn't provide any information that is needed. What model Roku player do you have that works, and what brand of TV is it installed on? What Roku player remote isn't working, and what is that TV brand?

We have two Roku sticks. One older one (2016) connected to the main TV is having problems loading Netflix. All other streaming channels work fine. The new Roku stick on another older TV works fine. This is a recent thing. When bringing up netflix, it'll load for a second or two, then lock up. If I pause for a while a couple times, then hit play again, sometimes I can then watch what I want.

I've tried multiple suggestions and was on a chat with someone from Netflix. After a while, they simply gave up and left the chat. I did most everything suggested on here. So far, nothing has worked. I like our Roku sticks, but it's to the point where I want to try something else.

I followed all the steps. Uninstall, restart, reinstall. Netflix still doesn't work on ONE of my Roku streaming sticks. It works fine on the other. Extremely frustrating. Maybe I'll have to switch to another streaming product.

This pausing problem is only happening with Netflix on the Roku Streaming Stick+. It also happens when trying to Airplay Netflix to the Streaming Stick. All other functions/apps of the Streaming Stick are fine. I have a TCL Roku tv also, and Netflix is fine on that device. It's been happening for about 2 weeks at this point. I have tried removing the Netflix app, rebooting the stick and then reinstalling Netflix. The problem persists.

Silimar issue. Netflix menu and previews are fine, then it loads shows at 0% forever. We are using a G211X Roku TV serial number X01900FV0V59. We already tried factory reset. Netflix works on other devices.

I did a support chat with Netflix. Surprisingly, they fixed the problem. They recommended unplugging the roku stick for 3 minutes and doing the same to the modem/router (I unplugged the stick for 3 minutes, but I only restarted my router). Afterwards, Netflix worked fine. The tech said it had something to do with existing information on the router sending to the Roku, that was causing it to stop playing. I'm still a little confused about that, but it works, so I'm happy!

I have been experiencing the Netflix not playing correct on Roku for a month or so and before calling Netflix support I had tried uninstalling the Netflix app, rebooting the Roku (express in my case) and reinstalled the Netflix app. This simply did not work. I can open the app, select a title, and play for a minute or so then the stream just drops out until I stop and start the steam again. Netflix had me uninstall the app, power off the Roku for 3 mins, then reinstall and that briefly seemed to work. However, the issue was back shortly after.

Netflix seems to have worked fine for me for years now on the Roku, but it seems that some update either by Roku or Netflix or both has stopped my ability to stream Netflix directly on the Roku express.

The solution is to power down the router for 3 minutes and then power back on the router. I do not know exactly why but it worked for me and this may help others. It seems that the issue is with the Netflix streaming server and not the Roku. The uninstall, power off for 3 mins, power on, and re-install sequence was the solution I was instructed to do by Netflix that worked for less than a day. After that I tried the router power cycle with 3 min off time and that worked for me for several days now. Your experience may vary.

I have the same problem. Internet signal good. When I go to settings and network, it indicates a green check for internet and wireless. I can use the internet on my laptop. In fact I am typing this on my laptop now. But when I try to use any of the Roku apps such as netflix, AmazonPrime, YouTube TV, I get messages like "failed to load content", or "no internet connection." I have unplugged and plugged everything multiple times. We have two Roku devices on different TVs. Same problem on each. I swapped out one Roku for an Apple TV box and had the same problem. I see that no one actually helped the prior writer. Has anyone had the same issue. Any ideas?

Didn't work for me. 3 devices, nothing changes, did all the steps. Internet went out and now I feel like I'm back to square one looking for a streaming device. Really need on call customer service, feel like searching through this page is pointless because of so many issues.
