Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could give me a synopsis of a typical day. I know the great thing about traveling is that every day is different and unique but I was wondering how y'all are basically living.

Have you been staying in hostels or hotels/apartments or just depends on the location? What do you do for breakfast, a coffee and fruit or toast? Have you guys been eating at good restaurants every so often? If so what has been y'all's best/most memorial meal?

I have been to Europe a decent amount of times with my family but I have never been by myself. That's why I am so curious. I haven't experienced stuff like finding restaurants that are in the budget and what not. As you can tell I am super jealous of you guys but know that I will be back to Europe soonish. I hope y'all are having a blast and I can't wait till you get back and I can hear about all the stories.

On a very unrelated note: Laura could only get credit back for her flight so we are going to go on a biggish trip in the next year. We are thinking either somewhere in South America or Europe.

Cheers,

Oddly enough we do sort of have a routine for each city. We read about the place on the train ride there and become familiar with the area where we’ll be staying. Chad will typically read about the nice traditional restaurants for the city or country near by and we’ll get one reasonably nice traditional meal before getting cheap stuff for the remainder of the time. We then try to do something iconic to that city. Often not the first day as we’ve started taking day trains, but usually the second day we’ll do something like Prague castle when we were there or here we did the Rijksmuseum today for example. We usually have coffee, fruit, and cereal for breakfast just because that’s what has been available. My meal that stuck out was the Hungarian goulash with cabbage that we had in Budapest. Probably one of the three best meals I’ve ever had (couldn’t name the other two, just resistant to give it the crown). Hope all is well and keep us updated on your progress. We are about to eat the truffles, so if we contact you saying weird shit, you know whats up.

PS Chad has just informed me that today is the first day on the trip that he’s taking two shits.

Truffles were great again in my mind. I had some stronger hallucinations this time than last time. Some good feelings of euphoria and so on. We had to do it in our hotel room unfortunately because it was snowing heavily outside, but it was a blessing in a way because we got to watch comedy shows on Comedy Central. I think Chad had a very similar experience to me, though Jim for some reason wasn’t too strongly affected and had some nausea early into the trip.

It was nuts. Highly recommended and I will probably do them again at some point.

Sounds nuts. I wish I had gotten to do that but at some point I will. I think you guys are in Munich now so have a blast and have a beer or two for me. Btw when I was there we did mikes bike tour and it was pretty touristy obviously but it was actually fun and a good way to see the city if interested. I think it was between 12-15€
