Bookmarks button-menu in the navigation bar

I don't like menu and bookmark bars.
it takes too much space vertically.
I can hide them both but I need my bookmarks.
It would be great if the navigation bar could have a button-menu with
my bookmarks inside it. Not by default but via an option.
