Hi!
Just a quick reminder about how to "check-in" for your rafting trip at
Whitewater Challengers. (Scroll to the bottom to see check-in details
for camping, bike trips and other programs and activities.)
RAFTING / STEP 1: Check-in at the check-in window at your appointed
"Arrival Time". You are the only person who needs to do this. All
others in your party can skip this step and begin filling out waiver
forms.
RAFTING / STEP 2: Rent wet suits, booties* or paddling jackets if
needed. On cool or rainy days, these can be very helpful. Up to six
people may rent river apparel on a single driver's license.
*For your safety, no flip-flops, crocs, slide-on shoes or bare
feet are allowed on the river. Old sneakers are the best.
RAFTING / STEP 3: Gather what you need to take in your raft. This
includes any prepaid lunches, or any food and beverage you brought
with you (no alcohol or glass containers, please!), plus any
medications you require. Ice coolers, extra clothing, towels,
valuables, and non-waterproof cameras are best left at the Rafting
Center. This is also the time to visit the restroom or make
last-minute purchases in the camp store.**
**Eyeglass straps are available in the gift shop and are
recommended. It's OK to leave keys on the gift shop
keyboard ... much better than taking them on the river!
RAFTING / STEP 4: When everyone is ready to go (except for life
jackets), count and turn in your completed waiver forms as a group.
You'll be handed color-coded shuttle bus tickets in return. Don't
lose these. You'll need them to board the bus to the river.
RAFTING / STEP 5: Get fitted for life jackets by showing you have a
bus ticket. Once fitted, stay by the bus with others holding the same
color ticket. This is also the time to make sure you're organized
into rafting teams ... usually 6 or 7 per raft, but sometimes 4, 5 or
6 at lower water levels.
CHECK-IN FOR CAMPING, BIKE TRIPS, PAINTBALL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES:
On weekdays, check-in at the register in the camp store for your camp
site assignment, bike trips and shuttles, Paintball games and for
any other programs or activities. On most weekends, check-in for
Biking and Paintball games is outside, right next to Rafting check-in.
If you arrive late for camping and the camp store is closed for the
night, look for the overnight attendant who will show you to your
site. If you've rented tents from us, they will already be setup
at your camp site.
See you in a few days!
