To Whom It May Concern,
I'm a recent graduate of Duke University ('11) where I
studied International Development and Middle Eastern studies and I'm taking part in a program called the Millennial Trains Project, which gives 20 somethings the opportunity to pursue a passion
of theirs as they take a train trip across the United States.
My project is
to take portraits of and interview Arab Americans across the country (my own family is Lebanese and Syrian.)
The idea is to create an annotated photographic essay that speaks to the Arab
experience
in the US, highlighting the diversity of the community.
The train trip begins in San Fransisco and I would
love the opportunity to interview/take a portrait of a member of the AROC for my
project when I'm in town this Thursday August 8th (from
1pm-5pm). Please let me know if anyone would be available.
For more information on the program, please visit the Millennial Train Project's website at
http://millennialtrain.co/ and you can go to
www.catherinelmeyer.com to look at my past work. I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm Regards,
Catherine Meyer
