I had the pleasure of talking with Cathleen Clerkin with Candid last week; she shared with me their desire to make a relatively large dataset available for free to researchers - but in order to get the financial support necessary to make this possible, they need to demonstrate to their potential funder that researchers would indeed want to access these data.
That's where you come in - I'm hoping that you'll be willing to share the attached one-pager with your sections, and then let me know of potential interest. If we could provide rough estimates of how many researchers are interested in the dataset even just among our members, Candid can share that information with the funder and see how it goes.
Once you've heard from back from members in your respective sections, please send me a quick email with an estimate of the number of distinct researchers/research teams who report a willingness/interest and I'll roll up the numbers across sections and share with Candid.
