Thumbnails for armstrong.apps.images

I would like thumbnails for armstrong.apps.images, do I need to fork the app and add them myself or is there another fork that will be pulled back in soon that I should use? It might be good to add a note about this on this issue (https://github.com/armstrong/armstrong/issues/56) as well.
