I've scoured the group for a recent post, so I apologize if this has
already been commented on. I'm curious if you have a targeted release
date and if this will also be released for OS X as well as the iPhone.

Thanks,

Hi James,

I hope to have a release candidate for Armor Alley w/o networking next
week. I plan to do a release soon thereafter.

There will be no OS X release.

Cheers,

A bit more on releasing Armor Alley:

If you google for "Armor Alley", you'll find hundreds of links about
pirating the old Mac version. This has completely, discouraged me from
doing an OS X version.

Right now, I need to get back to my regular research. As such, I'm
considering deferring the internet networking for the iPhone version
till I see if there are sufficient sales. :/

That really sucks about the pirating - but it's an unfortunate reality for all digital media.
As for including network play, I think it seriously help sell the game - not that the game won't sell as is, but I see requests/queries about multiplayer SO often on toucharcade that I'm sure if you had it, it would make the game so much more appealing to users (especially the younger generation - they tend to play more of the online multiplayer games).

I would very much like to do networking. But, it is a question of
economics. My primary work is on world changing level bio-rejuvenation
and bio-regeneration. Unfortunately, my research is all self-funded and
I need to get it to a significant, demonstrable milestone before I run
out of funds. With this milestone reached, I'll then need to acquire
investment.

If Armor Alley shows with networking it can support my research, I'll be
able to skip acquiring investment and add networking.

Cheers,

-Arthur
