Wordsmiths unite! The Robbins Library announces our 1st Youth Scrabble Tournament. Sharpen your spelling and logic skills and obscure word recall to become the winning player in your age-bracket. Tuesdays, August 11 (initial tournament) and 18 (final round). 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Youth entering 4th grade through 12th are eligible to enter. Categories include 4th and 5th graders (Scrabble Junior), 6th to 8th grade and 9th through 12th.
Family and friends are welcome to join us as we observe and silently cheer on the players. Located on the Whittemore Robbins House Lawn (weather permitting, otherwise the event will be held in the community room of the Robbins Library). Winners will receive an award certificate and gift cards to Arlington shops, books and game prizes will be offered as well. For more information or to sign up on the phone, please call 781-316-3234.
Please consider supporting this event. We will need adult volunteers the day of the event. Also, your donation of Scrabble and Scrabble Junior as well as other mind-challenging games, books and gift cards will be much appreciated.
