In my eBird daily alerts I sometimes see NFC reports from Arlington and Somerville birders. One of them - AndrewW - has an invitation link to an NFC Discord server, but it has expired. I just obtained an AudioMoth recorder so would like to talk with other users. Does anyone have a valid invite to that group?

Thanks
Betty

Hi Betty! Andrew of "Andrew W." here. Looks like the Discord invitation link is now https://discord.gg/Rb5FPuNDWj. Everyone's welcome!

For you or anyone else interested in recording and identifying nocturnal flight calls, feel free to follow up with me there, here, or in person. It can be a lot of fun, even with the initial learning curve...and even if none of us will get something like Bill Evans' "Big Migration Night": https://soundcloud.com/user-830174402/big-migration-night-harlingen-texas-usa. I've loved being able to document migrants that tend not to present themselves during the day in the same numbers they do at night, even if they're not uncommon per se. For example, last month in NY I picked up 900+ redstarts in a region that had fewer than a dozen daytime reports in the same period...and that was just with a small recorder in a bucket!

Andrew
