I've loved being able to document migrants that tend not to present themselves during the day in the same numbers they do at night, even if they're not uncommon per se. For example, last month in NY I picked up 900+ redstarts in a region that had fewer than a dozen daytime reports in the same period...and that was just with a small recorder in a bucket!
