I,m novice birder here, upgrading iPhone, does zoom on iPhones get any birds up in trees, I know cameras are better but just getting others opinions.  Thanks

I sometimes take pictures of birds using iPhone. The results aren’t as good as a real camera with a telephoto lens but on the other hand you can’t put that gear in your pants pocket!

Main thing that helps me, is to tap the bird on your phone’s screen when you’re getting ready to take the picture. This gets the phone to focus on the bird (not nearby branches, etc). 

I have an iPhone 16 Pro, it seems to do better with this kind of stuff than the regular 16, I assume the same is true for other models.
