Hi, Vision Zero External Stakeholders Group – See below for December action items and program updates…
Action Items:
-
Our next virtual
Action Plan Update Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, from 7pm – 8:30pm. Please save the date and share with your organization/community!
- Share the December behavior campaign:
Let’s stop drunk driving together (see graphics attached)
Program Updates:
- New 2026-2028 High-Injury
Network (HIN): Arlington’s HIN follows a three-year cycle. The new 2026-2028 HIN was developed using fatal, severe, and visible injury crash data from 2022-2025. The 2026-2028 HIN covers 51% of injury crashes, 54% of pedestrian crashes, and 46% of
bike crashes on just 6.6% of roadways. We will share a tentative 2026-2028 audit schedule early next year.
- Anti-Drunk Driving Campaign
Roll Out: Throughout December, we have been sharing our Anti-Drunk Driving Campaign in partnership with ACPD. Last week, we distributed coasters and posters with the campaign message and a QR code to the anti-drunk driving resources page to local bars
and restaurants in advance of the holiday party season.
- Action Plan Update Status: We are currently using
the findings from the
systemic crash analysis and October public engagement to develop draft action items, which we will share with you at the January ESG meeting. Look out for read-ahead materials in advance of January’s meeting.
- 2025 Action Spots Update: We are reaching the end of
preliminary analysis of the 2025 Action Spots and look forward to finalizing design and installation of improvements in 2026.
Feel free to reach out with any feedback or questions. Hope you have happy holidays and a great start to 2026!
A sincere thank you for your advocacy this year,
