RiverHouse Public Open Space - Feedback Form until July 20: As part of the larger RiverHouse development, the applicant team has concept designs for the public open space. Please review the designs and then share your feedback. Visit the project page for more details on the project.
Please respond with your thoughts on this important project. the first new green ribbon project as described in the PCSP. Space as always is tight, so it appears that some of the "green ribbons will actually be more part of the streetscape, with sidewalks part of them? This has major impacts on ped access (and bike access) through the project - so we want to get it right - especially for modeling future projects. Are the proposed cycle tracks along big south Joyce designed wall - and when bike switch over to little Joyce, these cycle tracks disappear and competition for tight spaces increased - is this the best design?
Much of the open space designs are temporary because only parts of the overall project are proposed now - other buildings may or may not be built later. Some of the problems with this are that the open space between N1 and 2 will be "half-built" with this part of the project - what are the challenges of this? Another is using part of the parking lot (south end) for a "temporary" extension of the green ribbon through the parking lot - extremely unpleasant in the summer heat and humidity and potential driver-ped-bike conflicts.
Sorry - no posting from SUSMO on this.
Thanks for competing the survey!
