"Kathleen Sheeder Bonanno's Slamming Open The Door is 'a gift of
power, truth, rage and beauty." Fresh Air from WHYY, heard on NPR,
jolted Me awake after 3 pm this fifth Wednesday of July MM IX. I
opened my door. IT fell on the floor, a DVD from a fallen angel with
a message of condemnation, "YOU are crazy." Outside was a "Cat Who
Knew Shakespeare."

"You have a cat following you!" My neighbors chided, pointing with
mirth.

I walked toward the library with my golden retriever as the storm
clouds crackled with thunder. In a daze, I crossed over the place
where Missy and I had been railroaded. IT felt as if I were acting
the part in a dream. Once again I am reliving a common trauma of our
age, the horror and the healing of the war against terror, seeking
justice in the midst of an outrage.
