to ARKs
Dear ARK and N2T.net Community,

There will be an upgrade of the ARK resolution service via the N2T resolver on April 10. End users should expect no visible service changes and no downtime. ARKs that are not resolved by N2T.net will not be affected by this upgrade.

The purpose of the upgrade is to install a refreshed code base and to bring internal resolution of ARK identifiers in line with the way that N2T.net supports other identifier schemes. Traditionally N2T.net has forwarded ARKs itself, but with this change N2T will internally and transparently route them first to a server under the arks.org domain, which will handle the forwarding (the redirection).

This upgrade should not cause users and providers of ARKs (or other identifiers) to change any of their current practices. If you have been using n2t.net to publish your ARKs, please continue to do so. After the transition, requests for new NAANs or updated NAANs should be processed more efficiently, but for a short period of time NAAN request processing may take longer than the usual turnaround time of two business days.

Again, end users should expect no visible service changes and no downtime. If you notice possible problems, please send email to the arks-...@googlegroups.com, which we will be monitoring and using to post follow up information regarding this upgrade.

Thank you for your consideration,

-On behalf of the ARK Alliance Technical Working Group
