A rare but nonetheless recurring "bug" I notice in conveyance of URLs online is for a URL to be placed at the end of a sentence such that the sentence's period (".") is parsed by one's browser to be the final character of the URL. This, of course, typically results in a 404. "If only it were an ARK..." :) From <
https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-kunze-ark-40.html#section-2.5.2>, the "ARKs that Reveal Object Variants" sub-section of the spec (emphasis mine):
> A period must have at least one non-structural character (one that is
neither a slash nor a period) on both sides in order for it to
separate recognizable structural components. So initial or final
periods may be removed, and adjacent periods may be converted into a
single period.
