Now I remember what my next question was!

It was the Zeus and his brother Poseidon.

As we all know Zeus' trademark is the lightning bolt.
His brother Poseidon was the god of the sea and horses. I thought
about this the other day (while laying in the bath) that the sea
crashing onto rocks makes a similar sound to a cavalry of horses
thundering over the ground. Both instances the noise that the seas
and horses can make are loud and both can be described as
'thundering'.

Then I though:
Zeus is the god of lightning and;
Poseidon is the god of thunder.

Has anybody ever considered that before? or maybe read about the link
between them somewhere?

Zeus is the God of Thunder [not Poseidon], and his weapon was the lightning bolt.
Poseidon was the Earth shaker (Earthquakes) . . .
