Does anyone know if ARIS plans to include an altimeter in the future? I would love to create content based on a 3-D location not just lat and long. Thanks.

Unfortunately, GPS doesn’t work much indoors so unless you are looking to make a flying game, it might be best to use iBeacons, which are meant for indoor location detection.  These will allow you to setup a trigger based on proximity to a little gadget (about $20), so you could specify something to happen in ARIS when players enter a room or even get near a specific object in that room. We are planning on adding support for these within the next 6 months.

That is very exciting news!  I learned about iBeacons last year and realized how great they would be for an indoor ARIS game, so we could get rid of the QR codes!  Thanks, David, for sharing these exciting plans with the group!

Hi David, I see now that Beacons are now an available trigger. Is there a particular beacon that you would recommend?
