Thiswill open a popup window that has the citations in RIS format. You will then need to right click on the mouse to get to the "save as" tool. Click on save as, and a save as window will popup. See next figure.

Now you must save this file as a .ris file. To do this, change the .html to .ris. Make sure you give it a name you can remember and put it someplace where you can find it. I usually label mine as endnote citations.ris and put it on the desktop of my computer.

Thank you! This worked for me. It did not work until I followed your step #3 properly by highlighting ALL TEXT PRIOR TO ENDNOTES (i.e. starting from the very beginning of the doc, through the text I want to sit above the endnotes).

This has not worked for me in repeated attempts. So far as I can tell, LibreOffice will not let me insert a page break on the endnote page, just before the first endnote. When I insert a page break on the preceding page and follow the indicated procedure, it has zero effect on the placement of the selected text, which I indend for the endnote header. It is not transferred to the endnote page, but remains just where I put it.

It is far easier: a dotted line above the endnotes appears when you situate the click just above the section. An option to edit appears there (Header(endnote) +). Clicking on the plus sign allows to enter text as header to the section. There are additional format options,
