"Communication with repository at http://update.argunet.org/org.argunet.client.pluginsite/ failed.connect timed out."

I have tried for years to map very complex ideas with mind map programs (Compendium, Freemind, KnowledgeBase, etc), but none could handle the complexity and volume of arguments I deal with. After studying all of your tutorials as well other articles on argument mapping, I thought I had an answer to my prayers with Argunet, but I could not install the plugins. How could such a tremendous amount of work and logical thought have gone into this program and yet there is this glaring flaw? The message thread with references to .ini files, etc, is very disconcerting for an non-programmer like myself. Is there any solution to this, or should I give up before inputting tremendous amounts of information into a program that will fail me? Will Argunet perform without these plugins? I would greatly appreciate your help in some simple, practical form, if possible.

Hello,

that seems to look like the issue described here. Argunet should run just fine without the plugins, though they come in handy if you want to export the argument-maps as pdf, jpeg-images and the like.

What regards your decision: We received reports about other issues and since there won’t by any further Argunet-releases, these problems won’t get fixed. So you might consider to use another tool in order to avoid further frustration. The former Argunet-Team switched to the new Argdown. Some background information about the differences can be found here.

Hope that helps.
