1) Digital Media Strategist
The Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in New York, NY is seeking a digital
strategist to help implement the mission’s use of digital media for outreach to the United Nations and relevant audiences with a focus on listening to, engaging with, and growing its audience across key platforms. S/he will work with the Mission staff to plan
and execute digital projects, keep the website and social media channels up-to-date and develop graphics and/or multimedia content to best convey public diplomacy initiatives.
The candidate will have a deep understanding of the social media landscape to leverage different social platforms, with a strong track record of creating innovative campaigns to communicate complex ideas. The digital strategist
will serve as a resource and digital diplomacy evangelist for the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations.
Responsibilities include:
• Work closely with mission staff to develop and execute web and social media campaigns and strategies that support communication and policy goals
• Leverage analytics/insights to inform strategy and create new tactics that increase followership and drive engagement of the Mission’s social communities
• Translating public diplomacy initiatives into explanatory graphics or multimedia
• Monitor, identify, and implement new technologies to enhance the mission’s digital presence
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in social media, public relations and community building, including in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, market trends and best practices
• Experience administering editorial and web content management systems,
• Proficiency with multimedia editing tools for photo (Adobe Photoshop) and video (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut)
• Knowledge in web and social analytics, and SEO
• Excellent written communication skills and a keen visual sense
• Fluency in English and Hebrew (both oral and written) is required;
• Passion for Israeli culture and politics, and global affairs is preferred

Note: The selected candidate must have an American work permit or citizenship. S/he will serve as an external social media advisor. The candidate will be required to have a series of security interviews at Israeli mission
prior to beginning employment.
2) Speechwriting interns
Israel's Mission to the United Nations in New York City is looking for talented interns to join the speechwriting team and help prepare remarks that will be delivered to the Security Council and General Assembly. This voluntary position will run from mid-August to the end of December. Interns work full-time, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include drafting speeches, letters and articles for publication.
