Emails not sending to mimecast host - empty string received

Using Argosoft 1.0.8.6 on Windows Server 2008 R2, when trying to email to mail domains hosted with mimecast cloud email service the following error occurs and messages don't deliver and eventually bounce back. The Argosoft server has a working TLS certicate, which works with all other hosts when relaying outgoing mail.
Is there a problem at mimecast and can anything be done to work around it at the outgoing host? It seems to stop with DLVR ERROR: Error receiving data - empty string received
