In the 1.2.4 0 version of Mail Server the Controller interface slows down over time and starts using more and more CPU. I realize it's not recommended to run it full time but I just transitioned servers and Mail Server versions and ran into this monitoring errors during the transition. I don't know if the Controller is queuing ALL messages and that causes the slowdown, what. I would gladly limit the lines queued if that's the case.

Restarting the controller fixes the problem for a while.

Additionally, the longer Controller runs the slower it displays activity, almost as if the queue of pending messages gets too big to manage efficiently. I don't know the internal mechanism Controller uses but it seems awfully inefficient for the simple task of relaying console traffic.

Anyone have any ideas on how to address this issue?

TIA

Hi Richard,

Please do not run the controller all the time.  Run it only when you need it.

I think, I put a warning not to run it if not needed when you launch it for first time.  Probably, you no longer see it, because you clicked "never show again" there.

Thanks, Archie,

I also missed the "log to screen" and had that on and set to zero so apparently the controller just kept adding to the window buffer and slowed down over time.

I don't usually run the controller full time but I needed it for my recovery from a totally crashed server to see what I had missed in the transition.

Thanks, again, for the quick response.
