Pre-release of Mail Server (v1.1.0.81)

We have a new pre-release version of Mail Server (v1.1.0.81).

It fixes issues with encoding and decoding messages containing Western characters (ISO-8859-1 or similar encoding), which are 8bit encoded. It also fixes false negatives, when checking DKIM signatures of such messages.

Hmm...  I will take a closer look.

This is the pre-release.  I changed the way how actual data is received.  Possibly I missed some detail.

I see a potential problem.  Set Max Allowed Message Size to something reasonable, like 10 MB.  It is at Settings - Services - Smtp - Common.

I think, the problem is that it is set to 0 (unlimited).  I am not handling that situation.

Sorry, there is no longer unlimited message size, but maximum possible it pretty high - 30 MB.

Strange behaviur in the lastest prerelease.. when moving mails from one folder to another i get this..

(it is copied, but hten i have to delete the original)

Don't seem to be able to reproduce in my Outlook.

So, it happens when you drag a message from your inbox to some another folder?

Can you enable logging of IMAP commands, try to do it, and send me a portion of log?

Yes i just pull from one folder to another, so that i did first, the second is, from right click and then move. (not copy)

Hi Ken,

It is interesting.  My Outlook does APPEND, then marks original message as deleted, and executes EXPUNGE, which deletes marked as "deleted" messages.

And, I do dragging from one folder to another too.

Your log even does not show that deleting of original message was requested...

Which Outlook is that? I use Office 365 version.

OK, I guess, Outlook 2010 uses COPY command instead of APPEND, and in your latest case it DOES issue STORE command to mark the message for deletion.

Only suspicious thing I see there, comparing your previous log with this one...  In new version I implemented UIDPLUS extension, a reply on COPY command is different, because it contains an additional information for UIDPLUS.

but, apparently, I am missing a space between a closing angle bracket and the word "UID".

I was hopeful that 1.1.0.82-PR would fix the bug/error that was introduced starting with 1.1.0.6 with using the SMS Backup+ app for Android, but it did not fix it. I just reverted back to the last known working version, 1.1.0.52-PR

The problem is that messages created by the SMS Backup+ app on 1.1.0.82-PR are corrupted. The SMS Backup+ app connects by IMAP to the mail server using my login credentials, and adds/inserts a new message in a folder (INBOX\SMS) which contains the contents of the SMS text messages on my phone, one message per text message on my phone. This is how it does a backup of my SMS text messages.

It's a wonderful app and has always worked great with ArGoSoft Mail Server up to version 1.1.0.5 and 1.1.0.52-PR. Starting with 1.1.0.6 the new messages created by the app on the mail server are corrupted, so there was a change that happened in 1.1.0.6 that caused this new bug.

I've reverted back to 1.1.0.52-PR which works fine, except I'd like to use DKIM but I cannot until this bug is fixed.

To recreate the problem -- Install the SMS Backup+ app on your Android phone from the Google Play app store, and backup your SMS messages to your mail server. Try it with 1.1.0.5 (works) and try it with 1.1.0.82-PR (fails). You'll see that in 1.1.0.82-PR the messages are corrupted.
