I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I can only send emails to other ArGoSoft users.

If I send an email from an ArGoSoft user to a gmail user I get this in the info in the ArGoSoft outbox for the message:

===== End of Attempt
[DLVR 000021 09-10-15 08:25:20] Delivering item 4
[DLVR 000021 09-10-15 08:25:20] Resolving MX records for domain gmail.com

[DLVR 000021 09-10-15 08:25:20] Will retry after 18 minutes...

and I get this info from an external test:

I get the same thing when trying to send an email from an ArGoSoft user to an outlook account. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Hi There,

The second error (external test) is normal (and expected) if your server is setup for SMTP authentication, as it should.  Let's look at the first error, though.

If you go to a command prompt and type

and

What are the results in the command window?

If you go into server options look for a place to set specific DNS servers; I am not in front of my server and cannot recall where.  However, you can set them specifically to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, and restart the server, that should fix your lookup issues.
