it seems, the DNS resolving does not properly work, if there are two DNS and one is offline. I'm using two resolvers on different locations and subnets. Both respond to a regular query from the "source server" (if I use the shell with nslookup). When I shut down the DNS resolver in the same subnet, the mail server (=source server) should use the other DNS resolver from the other subnet - but I get only MX resolving errors instead (in the log). As soon as I start the DNS resolver (in the same subnet) again, the MX errors disappear.
