Hace dos semanas vino mi mamá con 2 kg de DDL Conaprole, made in Uruguay. Se lo retuvieron en el aeropuerto. .

Hoy me contestaron esto de Biosecurity donde mandé un mail preguntando por qué:

Thank you for your enquiry about bringing dulche de leche products from Uruguay into Australia as part of a passenger’s personal luggage.

 

The regulations for import of dairy product into Australia changed in 2011 and the following import conditions now apply:

 

Dairy products are permitted provided that they are manufactured in one of the countries specified on the DAFF FMD Approved Country List (see below) and intended for human consumption only;

Dear Anna,

 

I am writing to you in relation to the query below. Back in December 2009 you confirmed that dairy products from foot and mouth free countries (including those where vaccination is practised) were allowed into Australia. 

I see that Uruguay continues to be listed as a FMD free country in this list http://www.oie.int/en/animal-health-in-the-world/official-disease-status/fmd/list-of-fmd-free-members/#c10693, however, my mother arrived last week bringing "dulce de leche" (spreadable caramel) made in Uruguay and she wasn't allowed to pass it.  

 

Has any of the regulations changed since then?
