We also offer training on Wwise and FMOD, the industry standard middleware applications for game audio.
The MTEC curriculum offers students the option to design their course of study to meet their needs. To augment their core courses, students may choose elective courses from music or related fields like media studies, photography, graphic design, and computer science. Because all these fields are very closely related, students can focus on areas that reflect their individual interests and goals. All musical styles and genres are supported and welcomed. Our goal is to give students the opportunity to succeed based on their talent, interest and hard work. All MTEC courses are transferable to California State Universities and many transfer to the University of California system as well.
MTEC courses are available on campus during the day and evening, as well as online, to fit each student's scheduling needs. MTEC students have access to Foothill's spacious, fully equipped, state-of-the-art recording studio facility, which includes a Dolby Atmos surround sound mixing stage. Students also have the option to complete all coursework online and at home.
By constantly updating and refining our curriculum, the program remains current with the most recent developments in the area of music technology and digital media content creation. No music technology program in the country offers as large a selection of music technology courses as Foothill does.
Note: Certificates of Proficiency are non-transcriptable and consist of 13-35 units. These certificates are designed as a career advancement tool. Courses focus on practical knowledge and skill development.

I highly recommend ProMedia Training as a source of instruction for the Pro Tools platform. As an educator at the collegiate level, the courses that I took were extremely helpful. The online classes are very convenient and can work with's anyone schedule. Again, I Highly recommend ProMedia and plan to use them again in my continuing education efforts.
ProMedia's training was perfect for me. It was very powerful to witness the teacher's skills and knowledge. His style of teaching is very impressive. I like that I am now part of a network of Pro Tools Pros and can get answers when I need them. It was a great experience to live with the software for three days. I really came to understand how fast this technology is moving and to realize that training is so essential not only for me but also for my Department. Thanks again.

The company began as a project to raise money for the founders' band, selling EPROM chips for drum machines. It is a subsidiary of Avid Technology, and during 2010 the Digidesign brand was phased out. Avid Audio products will continue to be produced and will now carry the Avid brand name.
Pro ToolsHD required a Digidesign TDM system and interface, and was intended for professional recording studios.
