I'm just messing around looking at a ton of different mods to see what they all look n sound like, and I've noticed a few will have that lil web modding box. I know it's to change the visuals of select websites, but apart from discord I'm not really sure what sites I should be checking out to see the web modding changes. I could just go through and check every popular site but I'm too lazy for that tbh.

Seems like the official ones all have some kinda list within the code from what I've read, so I was curious if that's something you can normally access for user-made mods?? If not what're some common sites that get modded.

I never thought about this before but I'm a private person. I'm staying at a friends' place using her Rogers internet using her router. Now can she be remotely logging the sites I go on? Any way to tell?

For standard websites (ie http://*) anyone can intercept or redirect the data stream (and a router is technically able to do this). If they can see the stream they can ascertain the exact page you are going to - not just the site - in fact, chances are extremely high they can hijack any login details you have etc.

For secure websites (https) - assuming your PC and the site you are going to are not compromised - all they will see is the IP address of the site, and the amount of data being transferred. It is often possible to infer from the IP address what the site is - particularly with larger sites.

as an avid online dater for almost a decade, i've been really curious since i began watching 90 day fiance in season 1 about what websites and 'apps' they're using to find partners! i've found that people on okcupid and match are primarily looking for local partners, and even when i've traveled internationally, are skeptical (for good reason) of dating (vs. just hooking up with) people from abroad unless there's some substantial reason for connecting -- a pre-existing desire to cross cultural boundaries, a particular sexual interest, etc.

the internationallly focused dating sites i've been on have seemed somewhat scammy -- low numbers of users, pay for services -- i guess to be fair, i don't fall into the big transnational groups for men seeking russian or southeast asian women. but neither do most of the women on the show who found love online -- danielle, narkiya, the new woman on Before the 90 Days with the belgian boo...

all this to say -- i find it interesting that these guys have such a hard time finding love domestically on the many populous apps in a country as large and diverse as the US, but are always like "oh, we just met on an app for international dating." curious to hear what people think about this or if anyone has been on one of these sites -- it's really always struck me as a half-truth.

Note: Most secure sites have https:// at the beginning of the URL. In some browsers, like Safari, they don't display the https:// in the address field but show a locked padlock instead. So, sometimes, just because a site doesn't have https:// doesn't mean it does not support that secure protocol.

One site that usually works in the PlayPosit web embed interaction type is Wikipedia, but other sites may not support embedding. Other sites require a bit of work to find a URL that supports embedding. Read below for tips on how to avoid a broken link in web embeds.

I have root access to a virtual private server (on Dreamhost) where I host my web sites. I am limited by RAM (currently 500 MB) so if one site (script of this site) demands too much RAM my whole VPS is shut down and restarted, taking all other sites down with it!

I need to understand the directions in need to look into to Writing a program that figures out what all websites have been hit by a user using his browser. I want to write a standalone program. Can anybody direct me to some API which may help me figure this out.

I will be going on vacation for a few weeks to my family home and will be using their wifi for work. The problem is, I am a cam model, and do NOT want them to know that I am visiting the sites let alone broadcasting. I will be using my own laptop, but their internet. There is a MAJOR tech nerd in the house, and I wanted to know if there is a way to block what sites I go to so there is no log of them in the router. Also, could he tell if I am broadcasting video?

DNS servers are used to resolve human-readable host-names (such as security.stackexchange.com) to a number that represents the server that hosts the website requested. The default servers a computer will use are generally overridden by the preferred DNS servers of the network. This makes a DNS server used for spying relatively easily implemented, and this server can collect information such as the names of the sites visited. They do not collect webpage data.

I am setting up my developer profile on Launchpad, and would like to change my username so it would be same as other sites I use, as well as better reflect me as a person. (that's a much more important thing than it sounds)

Changing your name will change your public OpenID identifier. This means that you might be locked out of certain sites where you used it, or that somebody could create a new profile with the same name and log in as you on these third-party sites.

Edit: I understand that it is an issue with OpenID. But how am I to know what sites will be affected? And how do i fix the problems this will cause? Can't I just reset the password (and as a side affect, re-establish the connection with the new username) using my email address?

How to change your username without problems actually depends on the sites where you used the Launchpad OpenID. Most sites let you authenticate with your email+password even if you set up OpenID, so you should have no problems at all.

I was wondering about everyones experience on other comic sites and platforms. I publish my comic on a lot of different places. It would be great to hear what sites you all use and what you think of them.

It is so interesting to hear everyones experiences. I find that tapastic is a very nice community. I been here for about a month and have already 17 subscribers which I think is amazing
Otherwise Deviantart is where my comic is the most popular. I hav 101 subscribers there. I think it is good to upload to many places to attract different audiences Thank you guys for sharing your experience. I thought about joining comic fury but maybe I won't now after what @infectedbloodcomics said. I have my comic on five sites now and I think that will have to do for the moment otherwise I will get to confused haha But I will check out The Duck (That name is EPIC!) Maybe I will join that site later

All in all, I only post my comic on Tapastic and Webtoon. I try to condense my readers down to the 2 sites while spreading the words that I'm working on a comic on my other social media (Twitter, DeviantArt, Instagram, etc)

Never tried Smackjeeves, Drunkduck/The Duck or Genesis but after CF I don't really feel much need to, and 3 sites are enough to keep up with at this point. Haven't tried webtoons either but from what I hear about their size limits I'd have to cut up most of my comic images into several images and i'm NOT going through that again, that's the main reason I stopped posting to tumblr.

I post everywhere!
Tapastic -ok but not sure I'm targeting the right readers. Also slanted towards gags.
The Duck - friendly but literally dead!
Smackjeeves - weird site with lots of bots, mostly yaoi, so wrong target. Site seem down today!
Comic Fury - a great site with beefy internals but a bit jaded look.
Web Toon - I have no idea what is happening and how people can find my work. Almost no feedack from anyone. Apparently people read my comic.
Other French language sites where I get better feedback from the community.
My site where I raw the most traffic and where I can track real growth. I'm happier home!

I know that my ISP can know that I am using Tor. In addition I know that my ISP cannot read the data leaving or coming at my PC. Can it however know what sites I have visited, e.g. can it see that I am searching something on Google?

Tor hides the identity of who you're connecting to (the webserver), so no issues there.Additionally, since Tor encrypts your traffic your ISP can't see your HTTP requests, so they can't see what websites you're trying to download.

Actually you need to run Tor as a router, only then you'll never leak a DNS info, but there's also a trick with persistent cookies: if you've visited some sites from your PC before going through Tor or logged into your impersonated profile - it can be used in metadata processing to deanonymize you even if you're behind a Tor router.

Is Fanart.tv the only site that Emby sources logos from? Today I worked on all the logos for all 32 seasons of Survivor plus the upcoming season and one for the show itself. The quality and sizes are quite varied so several of them couldn't go up on Fanart.tv and I couldn't upload them there anyways because I can't create an account. They have some spam guard on registration and it won't let me sign up even though I've never done anything that would put me on a spam list. Whatever. Even though the quality and sizes are varied, they are definitely suitable for Emby use. So are there any other sites that I could upload these to? I already put in a request on TMDb for them to add a section for logos on their site.

What sites do locals use to rate restaurants?2017/10/15 15:23 Hi all,

I've had a quick search online and it looks like Tabelog, Tripadvisor & Yelp are used by locals to rate restaurants (source: )

Are there any locals that may know if this is a correct view and which is the most popular?

I've generally used Tripadvisor for travelling in the past but I get the feeling that some places are quite 'touristy' and really prefer to eat like a local.

Prefer there to be a website / app in English but if there is some sort of location-based functionality, I can probably deal with it too!

Thanksby thedunnyman
