Disgen Wind Farm Application for a Special Use Permit
Special Use Permit application materials for the Disgen Marcou Mesa Wind Farm are available for review and comment. The project is located approximately six miles north-northeast of Joseph City, to the southern border of Navajo Nation between Porter Road and State Road 77. Greg Loper, Deputy Director of Planning & Zoning, Navajo County, requests that comments be sent to him via email, greg....@navajocountyaz.gov, no later than October 28. You can find the application materials on the ARENA website, www.arenawhitemountains.info. Those materials as well as supplemental documents are expected to be available in a few days on the Navajo County website "Project Information" webpage. A link is provided on the ARENA website. A public hearing before the Navajo County Planning & Zoning Commission has not yet been scheduled, but Greg anticipates that the hearing will be held on November 17 at 6 pm in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Navajo County Complex in Holbrook. Disgen is seeking approval to not conduct a sound study.
Water Resources Development Commission Report
The Water Resources Development Commission has released its report on the future availability of water supplies for the State of Arizona. Established by House Bill 2661, the WRDC was tasked with analyzing Arizona's water needs for the next 100 years. The Commission also began evaluating issues associated with meeting those needs. The report will serve as a foundation for future water-management planning. The Commission is seeking approval to continue working on potential solutions and legislative recommendations for the next year. American West Potash Technical Report - Expected Next Week
American West Potash is expected to release a technical report (NI 43-101) on its potash resource in the Holbrook Basin next week.
