HNZ Potash in the News

The Friday, October 21 edition of The Tribune-News reported on concerns of landowners in River Meadows Ranch regarding unexpected drilling by HNZ Potash for potash test wells in their area. A representative of their community association met with representatives of Texas-based Hunt Oil, which is a partner with NZ Legacy in HNZ Potash. The concerns and discussion are reported in "Potential Potash Mining Takes Residents by Surprise" by journalist Teri Walker. River Meadows Ranch is located on the southwest side of Highway 180, near Potter Mesa, south of the Petrified Forest.

Passport Potash Resource Report Due by the End of October

Passport Potash NI 43-101 technical resource report is due by the end of October, but it will not contain estimates of how much potash could be extracted from the company's holdings. That information will be available in another two months due to the need for third-party verification of historic data. See "Passport Potash Resource Report Has Been Delayed" in The Tribune-News (October 21, 2011).

Disgen Wind Farm Comments Due This Friday, October 28

Special Use Permit application materials for the Disgen Marcou Mesa Wind Farm are available for review and comment. The project is located from approximately six miles north-northeast of Joseph City to the southern border of Navajo Nation between Porter Road and State Road 77. Greg Loper, Deputy Director of Planning & Zoning, Navajo County, requests that comments be sent to him via email (greg....@navajocountyaz.gov) no later than October 28. You can find the application materials on the ARENA website, www.arenawhitemountains.info. Those materials, as well as supplemental documents, are also available on the Navajo County "Project Information" webpage. A link is provided on the ARENA website. A public hearing before the Navajo County Planning & Zoning Commission has not yet been scheduled, but Greg anticipates that the hearing will be held on November 17 at 6 pm in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Navajo County Complex in Holbrook. Disgen is seeking approval to not conduct a sound study.
