Band of Burns is a one-off collaboration of 11 musicians from the top echelons of the UK folk scene. Bringing elements of the musical traditions of Scotland, Ireland, England and even Turkey, this band will come together in two iconic venues to celebrate the life and works of Scottish National Poet Rabbie Burns in a truly unique way.

The night in two halves will take you on a beautifully crafted journey through a collection of the poet's best known works and hidden gems with an intricately arranged mixture of seven voices and thirteen instruments. Also, it will be the first chance to hear in public new compositions built from some of Burns' poems never before set to music.

Band of Burns is the culmination of many musicians playing with and around each other for years, and taking the step to come together for a small time to create something extraordinary in honour of this much-loved artistic icon. In the words of the man himself …

But pleasures are like poppies spread
You seize the flow'r, its bloom is shed
Or like the snow falls in the river
A moment white then melts for ever
