Hello,

I am trying to make a financial reporting for a small financial institution in accordance with specific taxonomies provided by the regulator. Every time I try to integrate the zipped taxonomy file the Arelle Taxonomy Package Manager says:

Unbenannt.png

I then thought, the file is not compatible with Arelle. I therefore tried to use an existing taxonomy via the "select" button. But this did not work either.

I also tried to type "*.taxonomyPackage.xml" after hitting the "Manifest" button - did not help.

Did someone also had this problem and know how to solve it?

Kind regards,
Hendrik

Hi,

A taxonomy package is a zip file containing taxonomy files along with specific metadata files. Does the zip you're attempting to load contain a "META-INF" directory, or is it a plain zip of the taxonomy files?

Hi Austin,

thank you for your reply :)

I guess that it is a plain zip file.

However, the problem also shows up when I use a standard taxonomy file via the "select" button.

Best,
Hendrik

Yes, the linked zip isn't a taxonomy package, it's a plain zip of the taxonomy files and so can't be loaded as a taxonomy package. Arelle does store an offline cache ("%LocalAppData%\Arelle\cache" on Windows) that you can manually copy the taxonomy files from that zip into if you don't want Arelle to attempt to download them.

The taxonomies from the select menu are dynamically loaded from the xbrl.org taxonomy registry. However, it appears that a bunch of those are either no longer available (the taxonomy publisher has stopped hosting them) or the zip they link to isn't a taxonomy package either (we'll look at filtering those out.)

Thank you, Austin, for your help!

I have copied the zip files into %LocalAppData%\Arelle\cache, but I guess that Arelle, currently, cannot be used to make files for the regulator :(
