Hello Team,

We are evaluating validation of NL NT20 KVK inline XBRL (iXBRL) output and would like clarification on the recommended disclosure system and validation approach for this scenario.

Current Behavior Observed-

1. KVK NT20 Instance Validation

When validating standard .xbrl instance documents using the NT20 disclosure system, validation works as expected.

2. KVK NT20 Inline XBRL Validation

For KVK NT20 inline XBRL output (which does not include an extension taxonomy):

  • When validated using the NT20 disclosure system, we encounter validation errors that appear to be targeted toward traditional instance-document requirements and constraints.
  • When validated using NL-INLINE-2025, we receive multiple validation errors related to extension-taxonomy-oriented requirements, such as expected extension structures and imports.
Analysis

Based on our investigation:

  • The NT20 disclosure system appears to be primarily aligned with traditional XBRL instance validation.
  • The NL-INLINE-2025 disclosure system appears to be designed for inline filings that include an extension taxonomy structure.

Objective

Our goal is to validate KVK NT20 inline XBRL output correctly in Arelle using the officially recommended and regulator-aligned validation profile.

Questions
  1. Is there a specific disclosure system that you recommend for validating KVK NT20 inline XBRL (iXBRL) filings?
  2. If there is no dedicated NT20-inline disclosure system, what is the correct validation approach for this scenario?
  3. Should NT20 inline filings be treated as extension-taxonomy-based filings (similar to the SBR KVK), or is there another recommended profile/rule set for non-extension NT20 inline submissions?
  4. If "NL-INLINE-2025" is the expected validation profile, is an extension taxonomy mandatory for all KVK inline filings, including those based on NT20 entry points?

    Regards,
    Gyan

Hello Gyan,

After reviewing your questions, I have the impression that a few different topics may be getting mixed together. Without the proper background and context, it is difficult for me to provide accurate answers and I would only be guessing.

Please feel free to contact me directly by email at j.u...@nba.nl. I am the Policy Advisor for Digital Reporting at the Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA).

Let's see if I can help clarify the issues and answer your questions.

Kind regards,
