hi there,

I came across Arelle when looking for validators to check that specific datapoints exist in future reports mandated by the CSRD, and I am looking for others working with Arelle to validate reporting submissions against the ESRS taxonomy - is anyone else doing this?

A little more context

I work in a civil society organisation, the Green Web Foundation, and part of what we do is track the transition of the internet away from fossil fuels.

There are a few specific datapoints in the ESRS that we think are good indicators of an organisation's progress towards this goal ( i.e. their own fossil vs non fossil energy usage figures, and so on).

So, we're looking to create an online validator, that given an appropriately marked up report, we can provide a high level view of progress along these lines.
You can read more outlined below:

Anyway, this  deck I came across suggests to me that there is already some support for using Arelle to validate against a draft ESRS XBRL taxonomy.

So back to my question - is there anyone on this list working with ESRS data and Arelle already?

If so, I'd appreciate a chat to compare notes, as we're looking at our options for open source software that can parse and validate XBRL formatted reports, and Arelle looks v promising.

Anyway, this post should provide in a more bit more detail what who we are looking to speak to:

Many thanks,

Chris
