Hi everyone,
I am trying to use Arelle in offline mode to diagnose XBRL files related to EBA reporting framework ver 3.3 but when I try to load the XBRL file in ArelleGui, I get the following error: [IOerror] if_class2.xsd: file error: [Errno 2 ] No such file or directory: 'C:\\Users\\lcarini\\AppData\\local\\Arelle\\cache\\http\\www.eba.europa.eu\\eu\\fr\\xbrl\ \crr\\fws\\if\\its-002-2021\\2022-03-01\\mod\\if_class2.xsd.
I uploaded the packages in the "Taxonomy Packages Manager" section that I downloaded from the EBA site in the "EBA XBRL v3.3 phase 3" section - Taxonomy packages [ZIP, 4 322KB].
Can you tell me if I need to load any other package?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.
Luigi

Hello Luigi,

We have noticed that " 'C:\\Users\\lcarini\\AppData\\local\\Arelle\\cache\\http\\www.eba.europa.eu\\eu\\fr\\xbrl\ \crr\\fws\\if\\its-002-2021\\2022-03-01\\mod\\if_class2.xsd" correspond to the v3.2 taxonomy.

Could it be that you try to validate a 3.2 XBRL instance with 3.3 taxonomies?  Arelle detects the entry point and tries to access the EBA 3.2 taxonomy in its cache.

In any case, for validating EBA 3.3 XBRL instances, we would suggest downloading the whole EBA ZIP as you did, reference all single ZIP files contained in it (multiple '--packages=...' command line options) and try it with one of the the sample files also provided by EBA: https://www.eba.europa.eu/sites/default/files/2023-11/8003fd93-e805-4453-9f34-97a87641f77c/sample%20document.zip

For your information, supplemental packages are needed for Eurofiling and XBRL.org base taxonomies, but they are provided automatically by Arelle when working in offline mode ('--internetConnectivity=offline'), at least for a recent version of it.

Best regards,

Greg

Hello Greg,
i followed your suggestions but when I try to upload a sample file a series of errors appear which you find in the attached file.
Is there something I forgot?

Thank you
Luigi

Hello,

The reference to the following packages are probably missing:

www.xbrl.org.zip
www.eurofiling.info.zip

To be sure could you please also share the Arelle version and the command line that you use?

Best regards,

Greg

Hi Greg,
I'm loading the XBRL sample file from the ArelleGui program and not through the command line.
I loaded the packages from the Taxonomy Packages Manager and my version of Arelle is 2.32.2 (Windows 64bit AMD64).
Where can I download the www.xbrl.org.zip and www.eurofiling.info.zip packages to load into the Taxonomy Packages Manager?

Thank you
Luigi

ps
Is there a possibility to configure the cache folder different from the default folder (e.g. C:\\Users\\lcarini\\AppData\\local\\)?

Hello,

Have a look at https://taxonomies.xbrl.org/

For the Eurofiling taxonomy, search for "eurofiling". I think the latest should be fine or try the  second to last one.

For the XBRL.org taxonomies, search for "xbrl international" and take the current ones.

Best regards,

Greg
