Hello there!

I have recently re-installed arelle and even though I have chosen the same plug-ins as before, I cannot get an inline XBRL document to load on my browser (Chrome).

Does anybody have any ideas on how to resolve this???

Could it be that it can be loaded on another browser and how can I change the default browser???

Bear in mind that I am a simple user...

Thank you in advance for your time!
Elena

Hi Elena,

To view an inline XBRL document using Arelle you should make sure you have the "iXBRLViewerPlugin" enabled from the plugin manager. If you open a valid inline XBRL document in Arelle with the plugin enabled it should generate a viewer and open it in whatever browser you have configured as the default in your operating system.

There are settings for the plugin available under the tools menu (Tools > iXBRL Viewer > Settings). If the viewer isn't opening and there aren't any errors in the messages log you should check that "Launch on Load" is enabled in that settings menu. If there are errors in the messages log, it's possible that the viewer isn't opening because of another issue (invalid inline report or network errors downloading the taxonomy).

Hope that helps,

Dear Austin,

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my query.

I have gone over your suggestions and here is the result:

"you should make sure you have the "iXBRLViewerPlugin" enabled from the plugin manager"
the plugin in enabled

"you should check that "Launch on Load" is enabled in that settings menu"
"Launch on Load" is enabled

The files seem to be uploading fine and the only error message I get relates to the non loading of the xbrl document.

I have attached printscreens, in case I am missing something...

How can I check if there are network errors downloading the taxonomy?

I really appreciate your further input if any.

Elena

Based on the screenshot it appears that you've opened an XBRL taxonomy entry point (.xsd file) and not an inline XBRL instance. The inline XBRL viewer plugin is intended to view inline XBRL reports and should provide a viewer if you open one.

Hope that helps,

Hi Austin!!!

I feel pretty stupid at this point 😜

Indeed, I was trying to open the wrong file format. Not using arelle for a long time made me forget the basics!

Thank you so much for your diagnosis. Issue resolved!!!

Best regards
Elena
