Hello Kelley Clements,

My name is May Lugo, and I serve as the program coordinator with Texas Brigades, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering youth through hands-on learning in natural resource management, agriculture, wildlife, and leadership development.

Each summer, Texas Brigades hosts week-long camps across Texas, led by industry professionals, educators, and trained volunteers. These camps provide students with immersive, real-world learning experiences in ecology, biology, agronomy, wildlife management, and land stewardship, while also exposing them to agricultural and natural resource career pathways and leadership development opportunities.

We are currently recruiting applicants for our 2026 summer camps, and I am reaching out to respectfully ask for your assistance in sharing this opportunity directly with teachers, counselors, and relevant program leaders within your designated district. In particular, we hope you will forward this information to educators who work with students ages 13–17 and incoming high school seniors who may benefit from this experience.

Application Deadline: March 15, 2026 (11:59 PM)
Application Link:

Tuition assistance is available.

In addition to student participation, we also encourage teachers and other adults in your district to consider applying as Adult Leaders. This role offers valuable professional development, hands-on outdoor experience, and the opportunity to mentor students while collaborating with fellow educators and natural resource professionals.

I have attached outreach materials that can be easily shared with teachers in your district. Thank you for helping us connect with the educators and students you serve. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like additional information.

Sincerely,

May Lugo
