Hi Pirates of the Air!

I'm happy to announce that Oleg aka Syberian from Omsk joined the
Pirates' team:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=240271
Welcome Oleg!

He's working on a port of the Pirates' code (NG and later ACM) to
other platforms for different ATMega boards (like the Arduino,
Seeeduino, Flyduino) supporting different IMUs (like Jussi's
FreeFlight 9DOF+) and already opened his own branch in our Google
repository:
http://code.google.com/p/ardupirates/source/browse/#svn%2Fbranches%2FSyberian

I'd appriciate if other Pirates' coders would lend him a hand! Thx in
advance.

Also I'd like to draw your attention on some important observations
that Gary Gress made lately:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18011485&postcount=6286

He's in a discussion with Bill Premerlani. Here's his response:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18053041&postcount=6381

Is there a way we could solve this issue without throwing the whole
code into the dustbin?

Another important thing i.m.h.o. is the status and roadmaps for the
different software developments, also the documentation of new
features in the NG code (like the Octo) and the next stable release.

- is there any movement in the development of the GUIs? Configurators,
Management Console, Waypoint Navigation, Mission Planner... A lot of
construction sites atm ;-)
- what's next: further developments of the Pirates' code bases? Status
of the ACM code - did someone try it yet?

Would be great to get a short feedback from the Pirates' coders and
some proposals on how to further evolve the code.

I hope it's not asked too much...

Happy Easter to all Pirates of the Air!

Norbert

P.S.: still didn't receive my ArduCopter hardware from DIYdrones - so
I'm stuck somehow. :-(
