to Arduino MN

Hi all,

Just posting this on behalf of the great folks at Asian Media Access who are hosting an Arduino event this Saturday ( March 31st ) at their offices at 3300 5th Street NE, #210, Minneapolis, MN 55418

Hi Everyone,

Although so far from the youth sign up, it doesn't look like we will have as large of turn out as we are expecting, we can still use 1 or 2 more volunteers for the youth workshop this Saturday. If you are available, would you please consider helping out?

You will be helping out at our youth Arduino workshop during the Minneapolis Youth Violence Prevention Week. The workshop is on Saturday, March 31, with 2 sessions. First session from 10 AM to 12 Noon, and second session from 12 Noon to 2 PM. We are expecting 20 youth maximum per session.

We are working under the assumption that no one has experiences with Arduino. We will be doing an Arduino Nano + WS2812B LED strip. Students will first learn some simple soldering, they will then plug the Nano into the computers, load up a Sketch from the Arduino program, and see the LEDs light up!  We will go over with them a little bit about Arduino, programming, changing some parameters, so they can see the affects, and how they can experiment with it with access to a computer. That will be about all the time we will have per group.

We are looking for 2 people to help with soldering, and 4 people to help in the computer lab with the Arduino per session. You will be working with our staff William. If you are available, we would really appreciate having you to provide a little bit of introduction on micro controllers to these youth.

Thank you.
Warmest regards,
