Piling speculation in among findings - without distinguishing them, particularly en mas is self defeating the scientific method based stuff. And the people, gangs of them out there trying to undo the trust in scientific findings,  -are thick; And backed by a corrupt corporate monster of oil based 'life' as defined by the Citizens United 'Enabling Act- the monetary vice and the corporate hammer.

While that point of view has merit, for too long the taboo of speaking freely- brainstorming if you will, has inhibited communicating the peril in which we have put the planet.  The time for sugar coating is over.  Those who want the truth will hear it.  Those who don't will try to squelch it.  There has to be a place where information is shared freely.  This is one such place. A rarity.

Well put Amy. I'm just afraid scientists will give up trying to speak up and change things because of details when a little more clarity would suit the cause of spreading truth to best advantage. We have to stop runaway global warming or else. It is my contention removing the ability of money to externalize harms to Earth while not counting active help toward restoring the open systems of nature which hold HZ as high value is basic to any undoing of runaway at this point, but not for long as the speed of acceleration of Earth's demise is logarithmic as well as oncoming feedbacks.

Thanks Sam, Dale, Amy and others for the great work you are doing. It gives me hope in the face of the
disbelief received whenever this subject is mentioned. Our government has just opened huge areas around New Zealand
for oil exploration and for coal mining. At last there is some reporting in our media of the latest IPCC report which seems to me to be an insipid uninspiring piece of work.
